An annual plant, 15-30cm high. The flowers are solitary, 1-2 cm in diameter, intense red in color with a black spot at the base. Seeds for seedlings are sown in early spring, and transplanted to a permanent place in open ground in April-May. Blooms in June-August. Used for planting in borders, ridges, rocky areas, rock gardens and for cutting. Cut flowers retain their decorative appearance for a long time.
